StarryTalez ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered platform that helps parents create personalized bedtime story videos for their children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

By using StarryTalez, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (via Google OAuth or email/password).

Child Profile Data: We collect the child's first name or nickname, age range, and any other details you voluntarily provide to personalize stories. We do not require or collect the child's full legal name, date of birth, school, or government ID.

Story Content: Text prompts, voice recordings you provide, and the AI-generated scripts, images, and audio that compose your stories.

Reference Photos (Optional): If you choose to upload a photo of your child as an illustration reference, that image is stored securely in your private account. It is never used for training AI models and is never made public.

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, story creation events, and error logs, collected via standard server logs and analytics.

Payment Information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details.

• To manage your account, credits, and subscription
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts)
• To improve service quality, fix bugs, and develop new features
• To comply with legal obligations

StarryTalez uses AI services to generate story content. Your prompts and story inputs may be transmitted to these providers solely for the purpose of generating your content:

• WaveSpeed AI — illustration generation
• Google / Gemini — story script generation
• Shotstack — video compositing
• ElevenLabs / TTS providers — narration audio

We contractually restrict these providers from using your data for their own model training or any purpose beyond fulfilling our API requests. Reference photos you upload are not transmitted to any AI service unless you explicitly trigger image generation for that scene.

StarryTalez is a service for parents and guardians, not directly for children. Our accounts are created and managed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

The child profile information (nickname, age range) is provided by the parent/guardian. Reference photos, if uploaded, are kept private to the parent's account and are never shared or made public.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without parental consent, please contact us at privacy@starrytalez.com and we will delete it promptly.

Your stories, images, and audio files are stored in Supabase Storage (hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access controls restrict data access to your account only.

We retain your story content and account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual stories or your entire account at any time, which triggers permanent deletion of associated content.

No storage system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your login credentials confidential.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

• Service Providers: AI providers, cloud storage, payment processor (Stripe), email delivery — all under data processing agreements
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may transfer subject to the same privacy commitments

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — Request export of your story data
• Opt-out — Opt out of non-essential communications

We use session cookies for authentication and minimal analytics (page views, error tracking). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You may disable cookies in your browser, but authentication features may not function correctly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
